A Christmas market with a long tradition
The Stuttgart Christmas Market is the ideal place to do some holiday shopping ahead of the merry national holiday this year. The array of timbered houses stretches all the way from the Neues Schloss and Königsbau to Karlsplatz and Schillerplatz, around the Altes Schloss and then on to Marktplatz via the Stiftskirche.
The Christmas Market is officially opened on November 27. Afterwards, all the stalls open, offering various holiday goods, from Christmas decorations to artisanal goods and traditional dishes. The picturesque antique market on Karlsplatz is an integral part of the Christmas market, with over 20 dealers offering rarities and curiosities.

Celebrate Christmas time in Stuttgart
In addition to the hundreds of magical winter stalls offering everything from chocolates and beer to knitted scarves, the Stuttgart Christmas market also sees the town hall transformed into a giant Advent calendar. From December 1 onwards, one little window is opened each day to show a coat of arms from one of the 23 Stuttgart districts.
Stuttgart Christmas Market has a prize every year for the best-decorated stall, which means every wooden hut is decked out to the fullest with lights, baubles and wooden decorations.
