BonnFest
There's never a better weekend to visit Bonn than September 27-29! Bonn Beethovenfest is still in full swing, and then Bonnfest also takes over the town, bringing free music and activities to the city centre.
Bonnfest
Bonnfest is a city initiative to celebrate the great city of Bonn and the people who live there. There will be two stages set up on Marktplatz and Münsterplatz, with bands and artists performing a diverse range of music all day.
The city squares of Remigiusplatz, Friedensplatz, Bottlerplatz and Poststraße will also be full of festival activities, shows, exhibitors and food stalls for you to enjoy. For the shoppers among you, the stores will also be open on Sunday afternoon, from 1pm-6pm, so you can browse the wares as well as enjoy the outside fun.
The lineup
There's a huge range of different types of bands playing over the weekend. Here's just a few of the genres and acts you can see:
- Jazz music by Hot Pepper
- Rock by Kölsche Welle
- Andean music from Sartanani Bolivia
- Ukrainian choir Namysto
- An ABBA tribute by Four Swedes
- Gospel choir Wave of Joy
- Electonic music from Klartraum Studios
Attending Bonnfest
Bonn is well connected to other German cities by train. The five main squares that host the festival are all in the city centre and extremely close to one another, so it's a perfect excuse to simply wander the streets of Bonn and discover the city.
The festival is free and no tickets are required. You can see more about the lineup and the day on the Bonn City Tourism website.
