The most in-demand jobs in Germany

Professional social media site LinkedIn has recently released the LinkedIn Jobs in Trend 2022: a ranking of the most in-demand jobs in Germany. The list features the 25 fastest-growing jobs in Germany, giving an “insight into how the job market is evolving and the long-term opportunities it presents” to people looking to work or currently working in Germany.

The ranking is based on LinkedIn data, which was used to identify which job roles exhibited the highest growth rates between January 2017 and July 2021. The list is not only meant to help those who are actively looking for jobs, but to help professionals consider what sectors and roles will be more prevalent in the coming years and what opportunities might open up in the future.

To be included in the ranking, each role had to display continuous growth amongst all LinkedIn members and reach a certain level by 2021. Jobs with the same title at different career levels were combined. Other occupations, such as internships, voluntary work, interim positions and student jobs were not included in the ranking.

How was the ranking put together?

LinkedIn’s researchers calculated average professional experience by calculating the average work experience each employee had before taking a specific job. The availability for employees to work remotely was calculated through job posts that were marked as “remote” or contained relevant keywords. The top hiring regions reflect the regions or cities that recorded the most new hires for each individual job.

The full list and methodology, including the key responsibilities and industries for each job, can be found on LinkedIn’s website, under Jobs in Trend 2022 for Germany.
