26 degrees expected over parts of Germany this weekend
Before the cold winds set in again, Germany is poised for some springtime highs, with temperatures of between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius on the cards for this weekend.
Warm weekend weather scheduled for Germany
After rain and chills on Thursday, Friday will see temperatures rise across Germany before peaking on Saturday. Hamburg and Frankfurt can expect 22 degrees, Berlin 23 and further south in Munich, a more modest 21 degrees. Regionally, temperatures are expected to reach as high as 26 degrees.
People in Germany should make plans to enjoy the warm weather this weekend because it won’t be sticking around for too long. Over the course of next week lows of 2 degrees will return. And in areas at altitudes of 1.500 metres or more minus 8 and some snowfall has been forecast.
Germany sees wettest March in two decades
The brief spate of low-to-mid-20s temperatures comes as a respite after the wettest March Germany has experienced in more than two decades. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), more rain fell during March than in any month since 2001 and it rained on two out of three days of the month.
