FlixTrain to expand its network to 70 cities including Dresden by summer 2022

Deutsche Bahn’s competitor FlixTrain has announced plans to expand its network this summer, offering long-distance trains to 70 destinations in Germany.

FlixTrain to start services to Dresden in summer 2022

FlixTrain’s summer timetable returns this week, meaning more destinations are once again back on the map. The company announced on Wednesday that it would this week resume connections to 40 stations across the country, including Munich, Augsburg, Würzburg, Aschaffenburg, Mainz, Koblenz, Andernach and Remagen.

By summer, the green trains will be heading to even more cities in Germany, with FlixTrain announcing plans to start serving Dresden and bring the total number of stations on its routes to 70. However, the transport operator’s network is still smaller than it was before the coronavirus pandemic

“People’s desire for travel will increase”

“We are convinced that people’s desire for travel will increase significantly in the coming months and we will have an extensive range of offers ready for them,” said FlixMobility CEO André Schämmlein.

The company’s long-distance bus service, FlixBus, now serves 270 stops in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
