Free ice skating in Berlin as refurbished Tempelhof rink reopens

Berliners can skate their way into November for free this weekend, as the refurbished ice rink at Werner-Seelenbinder-Sportpark in Neukölln reopens its doors.

Ice rink reopens at Tempelhof

This weekend, the ice rink at Werner-Seelenbinder-Sportpark in Neukölln, located at the southeastern entrance to Tempelhof, will reopen after a two-year refurbishment.

While the official reopening is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, those who fancy a slippy evening in Berlin can come by on Friday between 4pm and 7pm for free entry to the rink.

Unless you’re a pro with your own, you will have to pay for skates. Rental will cost you between 3,50 and 8 euros depending on how long you would like to spend on the ice.

Neukölln ice rink tickets will cost 4 euros

If you’re booked up on Friday, don’t worry! After the rink officially opens on November 2 tickets will still be affordable.

Visitors can expect to pay 4 euros for entry or 2 euros for a reduced-price ticket. A season ticket will set you back 100 euros, but just 30 euros if you’re entitled to a discount.

Maybe you’ve always hoped to take to the ice in a more serious capacity? Figure skating and ice hockey lessons are also available at the rink.
