Dresden Music Festival

Mark the dates in your calendar, as the Dresden Music Festival is one musical event you won’t want to miss out on! Running from May 9 to June 9, the annual classical and jazz festival brings world-class orchestras, ensembles and soloists to the city of Dresden to perform a series of concerts and premieres.

In addition to classical performances, attendees can also enjoy a range of contemporary classical music, jazz, dance and world music productions. With more than 1.500 artists performing, there is something for everyone to enjoy during the long programme.

About the Dresden Music Festival

Taking place every year for the past 40 years, the Dresden Music Festival has cemented itself as a cultural institution in Dresden and Saxony and attracts an audience from across Germany and beyond each year in May and June. 

The three weeks of the festival see renowned orchestras, top-class soloists and ensembles descend on the city on the Elbe to perform in beautiful venues in its historic centre and "fill the city with music".

Each year the Dresden Music Festival builds its programme around a specific theme, which changes annually. The theme in 2024, "HORIZONS", ventures into a visionary year of discovery and invites audiences to broaden their horizons. The festival supports diversity and encourages its attendees to embrace visions for our future in all cultural forms.
